I don’t think my absence was all that remarkable, in that I don’t think many people are following this blog, but to those who are: Shit happens. Sorry! Time got away from me. I’ve been focused on getting deals done (I sell marijuana companies) and applications approved (I also do state applications for people whose states are coming online to legal marijuana).
It’s been a good year. Buyer interest is at an all-time high (no pun intended)–I have $18M in contracts already this year. And the states are signing up for the Marijuana Free Money Give-Away at a rapid rate (because, call it compassion if it makes you feel good, but, this is really about tax dollars). I just finished three Pennsylvania and one Texas application and Ohio and Arkansas are barking at my door. My friends, I have been busy!
In addition to this, I am working on bringing the magical Mexican spirit, mezcal, into the United States under my own label. This project is about 18 months in and I have to say, I am loving it. Mezcal, if you don’t know about it, is the oldest spirit in the Americas and is like wine: one-off, small-batch stuff where everything matters. Type of agave, terroir, time of harvest, roast, molida (crush), distillation… EVERYTHING. I think you guys are gonna love it.
That’s the update for now. More later!
